KU soccer to host tailgating competition Thursday

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Before the action heats up on the pitch between No. 14 Kansas and No. 7 BYU Thursday night, KU soccer is calling for fans to get into the competitive spirit in the Rock Chalk Park parking lot as the Jayhawks will host a tailgating competition prior to the match. Judged by head coach Mark Francis starting 40 minutes prior to kickoff, a winning group will be chosen and awarded with various prizes.

The winning tailgate will be selected based on food quality, presentation and overall Jayhawk fandom. Be sure to have the grills going and the decorations set up by 6:15 p.m., as Francis will head to the parking lot to select the winning team from 6:20-6:30 p.m.

The KU Gameday Experience staff will also have assorted tailgating games set-up in the parking lot starting at 6 p.m.

A top-15 match-up will then take the field at Rock Chalk Park as the 7-1-0 Jayhawks battle the undefeated Cougars at 7 p.m. Tickets are still available and can be purchased in advance here or at the Rock Chalk Park ticket office.
