KU women's golf inks third signee for 2019-20

LAWRENCE, KS. – The Kansas women’s golf teamed officially announced the addition of a third signee for their 2019-20 class, Rivani Sihotang on Monday. Hailing from Depok, Indonesia, Sihotang attended Open Senior HS 4 of Depok where she made a name for herself on the international scene.

Sihotang played partially at LSU during the early fall last year before transferring to Kansas. She has won the 2018 Indonesia Ladies golf tour and has also participated in the 2017 Indonesia Ladies Amateur Open Championship, where she finished tied for fourth. She also finished second in the Indonesia Elite National Amateur Championship in 2018. Adding to her resume, she has been a member of the Indonesia Women’s National Team since 2014 and is a three-time Indonesia National Junior Champion (2015, 2016, 2017). She is the number two-ranked junior in Indonesia according to the World Amateur Golf Rankings.

“We are excited to have Rivani join us next fall,” head coach Erin O’Neil said. “She brings a tremendous amount of experience competing internationally that will no doubt help us in reaching our goal as a team. Rivani has a solid swing, outstanding short game and a strong desire to make a difference for us both on and off the golf course.”

Sihotang joins fellow signees Brooke Boardman (Waukee, Iowa) and Yingting Hseih (Huantan Township, Taiwan) who originally signed during the early signing period last November.
