πŸŠβ€β™€οΈ Manning Earns Swimmer of the Week

LAWRENCE, Kan. –Β Kansas swimmer Manon Manning was named the Big 12 Swimmer of the Week as announced by the league office on Wednesday, Dec. 4.

The junior earned her first conference player of the week honor after claiming the 2019 Kansas Classic Swimmer of the Meet on Nov. 24. During the three-day event, Manning totaled a meet-best 72 points and claimed three first-place finishes (two individual and one relay). This included a top finish in the 100-yard backstroke (with a meet record time of 52.75) and the 200-yard backstroke (1:56.90). She was also a member of the first-place 400-yard medley relay team that set the KU record with a final time of 3:37.37. Manning also claimed second place in the 50-yard freestyle (23.18) and fourth in the 100-yard fly (54.99).

She joins Jiayu Chen as the two Jayhawks to earn conference player of the week honors this season with Chen being named the Big 12 Diver of the Week Oct. 16.
