Selden Featured on SI Preview Cover
LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas freshman Wayne Selden is featured on the Sports Illustrated’s College Basketball Preview regional cover released Wednesday.
On the Nov. 18 cover, Selden is highlighted with a basketball in hand as Oklahoma State’s Marcus Smart is defending him. The photos were taken individually and synced together. The SI cover featuring Selden is one of four regional covers with matchups from across the nation – Michigan-Michigan State, Louisville-Kentucky and Duke-North Carolina.
Selden is the second Jayhawk to appear on a Sports Illustrated cover this season. Freshman guard Andrew Wiggins was on the Oct. 24, 2013 SI cover. This marks the 13th time a Kansas men’s basketball player has appeared on the Sports Illustrated cover in the Bill Self era.
Through two games, Selden is averaging 11.5 points and 4.0 rebounds for the 2-0 Jayhawks. KU will next play Nov. 19 when it plays host to Iona at 7 p.m. in Allen Fiehdouse.
