Jayhawks Spend Day 1 in the Bahamas with Some Work and Fun

ATLANTIS, PARADISE ISLAND, Bahamas – Kansas’ men’s basketball team spent its first full day at Paradise Island, Bahamas, practicing for the Battle 4 Atlantis at the Imperial Arena here Wednesday.

The Jayhawks spent one hour of practice in Imperial Arena, a converted ballroom which will seat 3,900 for the event, and a second hour in an adjacent ballroom. Following practice, head coach Bill Self and starters Tarik Black and Naadir Tharpe addressed the media and conducted a couple of television interviews for AXS TV, which will broadcast KU’s Thanksgiving Day first-round game in the Battle 4 Atlantis against Wake Forest at 2:30 p.m. (Central).

Self gave the team some exploring time on Paradise Island in which players visited the beach and the pool before heading back for a welcome reception for all the teams.
