Kansas Athletics and Lyft announce partnership to help Jayhawk fans get to and from events

LAWRENCE, Kan. — Lyft is the new rideshare partner of Kansas Athletics, and the rideshare company will be available at all men’s and women’s basketball games at Allen Fieldhouse. A designated drop-off/pick-up location near the venue will be provided during each home game. Lyft drivers will have access to a VIP drop-off location on Allen Fieldhouse Drive, which is located within feet of the venue.

“We want students and fans to put their energy towards supporting their team without having to think about parking, traffic and designated drivers,” said Jaime Raczka, Lyft spokesperson. “Lyft is proud to be named the rideshare partner for Kansas Athletics to help fans get to and from the games safely.”

New passengers who sign up for Lyft can use the code KUATHLETICS to receive $5 off their first five rides.

The partnership was negotiated by Jayhawk IMG Sports Marketing, the exclusive multimedia rights holder of Kansas Athletics.

“Lyft has been a great addition to the community and we are excited to provide fans with another option in getting to and from campus events,” said Marc Tuttle, General Manager at Jayhawk IMG Sports Marketing. “We encourage fans to take advantage of this ridesharing service, and the discounts that Lyft is offering.”
