Mykhailiuk leads U20 European Championship in scoring

Kansas senior Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk led all scorers at the 2017 U20 European Championship in Crete, Greece, which concluded July 23. Representing his home country, Ukraine, Mykhailiuk averaged 20.4 points as his team finished 10th in the event which consisted of 16 teams.
 
In seven games at the U20 European Championship, Mykhailiuk had three games of 20 or more points and his 26 against Latvia (July 16) were his high for the event. Mykhailiuk averaged 2.3 3-pointers made per game and also had a 6.4 rebound average. After going 1-3 in its first four games, Ukraine won two of its final three games to finish 3-4.
 
Mykhailiuk will join his KU teammates on the upcoming Italy tour, July 31-August 8. KU will play four games while on the tour with two in Rome (Aug. 2-3) and two in Milan (Aug. 5-6).
