LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas basketball will enter postseason play as the top-ranked team in the nation.

The Jayhawks (28-3, 16-2 Big 12) remain No. 1 in both the USA Today NABC Coaches’ Poll and the Associated Press (AP) Top 25 for the second-straight week.

KU won its 13th-straight Big 12 regular-season championship with a four-game lead after a 73-63 Senior Night win over Oklahoma last Monday, followed by a 90-85 road win at Oklahoma State on Saturday.

Kansas has been ranked in each of the last 160 AP polls and 164 coaches’ polls dating back to the 2008-09 season, which are the longest active streaks in the nation, respectively. In the AP poll, 26 of the 65 total times KU has held a No. 1 ranking have come during the Bill Self era.

KU is 5-0 against AP top-10 teams this season, including a 4-0 mark against top-5 teams.

KU has been ranked in the top-10 in both national polls all season after entering the 2016-17 campaign No. 3 in the AP poll and No. 2 in the coaches’ poll.

Kansas is the No. 1 seed in the 2017 Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship, March 8-11 at Sprint Center in Kansas City. The Jayhawks’ quarterfinal game will be Thursday (1:30 p.m., ESPN2) against the winner of No. 8 seed TCU and No. 9 seed Oklahoma.
