Showdown for Relief allows fans to donate in support of hurricane relief efforts

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Today’s Showdown for Relief, a charity men’s basketball game between the University of Kansas and the University of Missouri is more than just a game. It’s an opportunity to raise funds for hurricane relief efforts that have occurred recently in the United States, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Competition will happen both on the court – and between fans. Now through 10 p.m. CST, Oct. 22, fans can support their schools by donating to the cause via text.

  • Kansas fans:  Text KU to 41444 to donate to the hurricane relief efforts
  • Missouri fans:  Text MIZ to 41444 to donate to the hurricane relief efforts

Additionally, fans can donate via the web.

Money raised from the game will be contributed to the organizations that the five living former U.S. Presidents have come together to support: the Houston Harvey Relief Fund, the Rebuild Texas Fund, the Florida Disaster Fund, Juntos y Unidos Por Puerto Rico and the Fund for the U.S. Virgin Islands.
