KU golf nears completion of new practice facility

LAWRENCE, Kan. – After almost five months and nearly $2 million dollars, the new Kansas golf training facility at The Jayhawk Club is nearly complete. The state-of-the-art practice complex will be open to members of the men’s and women’s Jayhawk golf program year round, and will allow them to work on all facets of the game in a myriad of conditions.

The 8,500-square foot complex consists of an indoor putting and chipping green, along with seven hitting bays that feature launch monitors, the ability to change the climate and a simulation room. Outside of the complex is an outdoor short-game area, a driving range and exclusive zoysia and bent grass tee boxes to prepare the Jayhawks for any event.

Aside from the practice aspect of the complex, there also are lounges for both the men’s and women’s teams to kick back and relax, along with custom-made lockers for the players and offices for the coaches.
