CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Kansas men’s golf team currently sits in 13th with a two round total of 589 (+21), behind senior Ryley Haas’ second round 72 (+1), at the Irish Creek Collegiate, Saturday in Charlotte, N.C., at the Club at Irish Creek.

Kansas started the day with a 297, (+13) and finished up the day with a second round 292 (+8). Haas started his day with a 75 (+4), bringing his two round total to 147 (+5), placing him in a tie for 36th in the 90-golfer field.

Also contributing to the Jayhawks effort was sophomore Connor Peck and junior Ben Welle. Peck started off his day with 75 (+4) and finished the second round by carding three birdies on his way to a 72 (+1), bringing his tournament total to 147 (+5) also placing him in a tie for 36th. Welle carded a 74 (+3) in the first round and recorded four birdies in the second round on his way to a 73 (+2). Welle, like Haas and Peck, currently sits in a tie for 36th with a two round score of 147 (+5).

KU freshman Chase Hanna led the team in the first round with a 73 (+2) and ended the day with a second round 76 (+5), bringing his total to 149 (+7), placing him in tie for 52nd.

Junior Logan Philley posted a first round 78 (+7) and a second round 75 (+4), to give him a two round score of 153 (+11) placing him in a tie for 74th.

North Florida and Georgia State currently share the lead with a 570 (+2). Charlotte sits just one stroke behind them in third with a 571 (+3). Kansas is three strokes behind Davidson’s 586 and five strokes from cracking the top 10 of the 16-team field.

The Irish Creek Collegiate will conclude with one round, 18 holes on Sunday, April 6.
