Jayhawks set to race at Pre-Nationals on Saturday

LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Kansas cross country teams will hit the road for the first time this season, traveling to Madison, Wisconsin for the 2018 Pre-National Invitational at Zimmer Championship Course on Saturday, October 13.
 
Following a strong start to the 2018 season at its home course, Kansas cross country looks to continue building on its success heading into the second-half of the season.
 
Kansas begins racing at the Pre-National Invitational at 10:45 a.m. in the women’s 6K seeded White Race. The Jayhawk men will race in the seeded Cardinal Race 8K beginning at 11:30 a.m. Each team is allowed to have seven athletes participate in the seeded races with an additional five runners allowed to run in the unseeded race.
 
Lauren Harrell, Megan Paule, Ally Ryan, Catherine Liggett, Riley Cooney, McKenzie Wilks and Sharon Lokedi will run in the Women’s White Race, while Hannah Driscoll and Cameron Gueldner will participate in the unseeded 6K Gray Race at 1 p.m.
 
On the men’s side, Ben Butler, Ethan Donley, Chace Hale, George Letner, Dylan Hodgson, Chris Melgares and Michael Melgares will race in the Men’s Cardinal Race with Bryce Hoppel and John Luder running in the unseeded 8K Gray Race at 1:45 p.m.
 
Next, the Jayhawks will travel to Ames, Iowa on Friday, Oct. 26 to compete at the Big 12 Championship where Lokedi looks to earn her third-straight Big 12 title.
