Kansas closes out fall 2018 tennis season

TEMPE, Ariz. – The final day of the Arizona State Thunderbird Invitational at the Whiteman Tennis Center in Tempe, Arizona, wrapped up the fall portion of Kansas tennis’ 2018-19 season.
 
The Kansas doubles team of Julia Deming and Plobrung Plipuech took to the court Sunday against Big 12 Conference foe TCU. The Jayhawk pair triumphed over the Horned Frogs’ duo of Aleksa Cveticanin and Stevie Kennedy, 6-2.
 
After winning her singles matches on Friday and Saturday Plipuech was unable to pull off an undefeated weekend for herself on the final day of the tournament. The KU sophomore was defeated by Michigan’s Alyvia Jones, 6-3, 6-2. Deming took on another Wolverine in Bella Lorenzini, who beat the KU freshman, 3-6, 6-2, 1-0 (8).
