Kansas caps off a successful fall season

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – Kansas closed out the fall season with four top-three finishes at its last chance to compete before the winter sets in at the Tulsa Fall Invitational on Saturday.    
 
KU’s Novice Eight picked up right where it left off at the Jayhawk Jamboree as Kansas A placed first in the second event of the day. The Jayhawks then went for the sweep when Kansas B and Kansas C both crossed the finish line before fourth-place SMU.
 
Kansas A in the Varsity Eight race had the Jayhawks fastest time of the day (14:22.41), finishing behind Tulsa A and SMU A for third place.  The Jayhawks’ third and final event of the day was the Varsity Four, Kansas B had KU’s best finish of the race, finishing less than a second ahead of Tulsa B for fifth place.
 
Key Races

  • Jayhawks swept the Novice Eight event with all three shells finishing in the top three. Kansas A led the way at 15:10.40 with Kansas B and C not far behind at 15:47.82 and 15:54.41, respectively.
  • KU’s First Varsity Eight rounded out the top three during the first event of the day, finishing in 14:22.41.
  • Kansas’ best finish in the Varsity Four came from Kansas B with a 15:59.86 finish for fifth.
