Kansas football spring game set for Saturday, April 28

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas football has set its date for the annual spring game which will be held on Saturday, April 28 in Memorial Stadium, with kickoff slated for 1 p.m.
 
Head coach David Beaty and the Jayhawks will open up spring practice on Saturday, March 31 and the schedule includes the 1 p.m., game on Saturday, April 28. The Jayhawks will spread out their spring practice dates over a four-week.
 
Per NCAA rules, KU will hold 15 practices during the spring season. As a safety precaution, in two of the practice sessions players will be limited to helmets only. Additionally, in a third session players are only allowed to dress out in helmets and shoulder pads, as they are required to go through an acclimatization period. The remaining 12 practice sessions, players are able to wear full pads and participate in live contact drills for a portion of practice.
 
The sixth-annual Train Like a Jayhawk Kid’s Clinic is also Saturday, April 28. More information on the Train Like a Jayhawk Kid’s Clinic and all of the events surrounding the annual spring game, including times, locations and parking information, will be provided at a later date.
 
Kansas football season tickets are available now starting as low as $125 for all six games at Memorial Stadium this fall.
 
Loyalty pricing is available to 2017 season ticket holders and offers up to a $50 per season ticket savings. Fans who renew by April 28 will save an additional $35 with all handling fees being waived. Season tickets for all fans will include a complimentary seatback. 
 
Williams Education Fund (WEF) members renewing their tickets will also enjoy the option to keep their same seats as last year. In addition, WEF members will receive a priority point bonus of five points per consecutive season of holding season tickets since 2004. WEF members wishing to participate in Select-a-Seat should order by April 13.
 
A convenient payment plan option is available with 10 percent due at the time of order and remaining payments divided equally and charged on the first business day of the month through July 2.
 
KU will begin the 2018 season on September 1 vs. Nicholls State. The Jayhawks will also host nonconference opponent Rutgers (Sept. 15/Family Weekend, Childhood Cancer Awareness) before Big 12 rivals Oklahoma State (Sept. 29/Homecoming, K-Club Weekend), TCU (Oct. 27/Jayhawks for a Cure), Iowa State (Nov. 3/Salute to Service) and Texas (Nov. 23/Senior Day) visit Lawrence.
