“Debbie (Vogasari) has only been here one year, but I feel like her impact has been much more than that,” said head coach Todd Chapman. “I think she’s done a great job adapting to our program and fitting in with the team. She’s definitely helped us on the court as well. We’re excited to celebrate her Sunday.”

In doubles, Vogasari teamed up with sophomore Maria Toran Ribes at the No. 3 spot in mid-February. Since, the duo has tallied a 10-3 record with a 6-1 mark against Big 12 foes.

Oklahoma State leads the all-time series with KU, 29-16. The Cowgirls have four singles players ranked in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s (ITA) top-125 in No. 21 Vladica Babic, No. 37 Megan McCray, No. 99 Marina Guinart and No. 121 Katarina Stresnakova. Babic has only played at the No. 1 spot, amassing a 12-3 dual-match record. McCray has seen time as the one and two for OSU with a dual-play mark of 13-1. Guinart competes at four for the Cowgirls and is 11-2 in duals. Stresnakova has played at both the No. 3 and 4 positions, tallying a 13-2 record in dual matches.

Babic is also ranked in doubles with partner Sofia Blanco at No. 12 in the nation. The duo competes at the top spot for Oklahoma State and hold an 11-2 dual mark, including a 5-0 record against Big 12 opponents.

“Oklahoma State and OU are both really good teams and playing really good tennis right now,” said Chapman. “We definitely have two tough tasks in front of us this weekend. It’s exciting to be back home and play in front of our crowd. Hopefully we’ll get a lot of fans out Friday night and Sunday afternoon to support the team and have a great tennis environment.”

In the overall series, Kansas leads the Sooners, 23-21. Leading Oklahoma is Lily Miyazaki, who sits at No. 38 on the ITA’s singles poll. Playing only on court one, Miyazaki owns a 13-5 record in duals.
