LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas Athletics’ teams combined for a 3.05 grade point average for the 2018 spring semester, led by the Jayhawk swimming & diving team with a team-record 3.60 GPA.
A total of 245 student-athletes – 56 percent of students on active rosters – recorded a GPA of 3.00 or higher, earning Athletic Director’s Honor Roll distinctions, including 42 that earned a perfect 4.00 GPA.
Swimming & diving’s 3.60 team GPA marks the second-straight year the program led all KU programs in the classroom and also marks the second-straight year with a team-record GPA.
Six of Kansas’ 14 programs – cross country and track & field are combined for recording purposes – recorded GPAs above the 3.0 mark. Soccer posted the second-highest GPA in the department at 3.48. Softball recorded a 3.44 GPA and women’s golf notched a 3.43 GPA to rank third and fourth, respectively, among the KU programs.
