Kansas signee Bradford earns silver at World U20 Championships

TAMPERE, Finland – Kansas track & field signee Zach Bradford earned a silver medal at the IAAF World U20 Championships on Saturday in the men’s pole vault while representing the United States in Tampere, Finland.

A native of Bloomington, Illinois, Bradford cleared 5.55 meters (18-2.5 ft.) to take second place, with Sweden’s Armand Duplantis winning the gold medal. Bradford’s silver medal clearance proved to be a personal best for the incoming freshman.

Bradford wasn’t the only Jayhawk to find success in Tampere, with freshman Alexandra Emilianov winning the gold medal in the women’s discus on Thursday with a mark of 57.89 meters (189-11 ft).
