Henry leads Jamaican 4x400 to fourth-place finish at Athletics World Cup

LONDON – Kansas track & field junior Ivan Henry helped the Jamaican 4×400-meter relay team to a fourth-place finish at the Athletics World Cup in London on Sunday by running the team’s fastest split.
 
A native of St. Catherine, Jamaica, Henry’s home country combined for a time of 3:04.96 at London Stadium, with the Jayhawk upperclassman leading the way with a split of 45.4 seconds as the second leg.
 
Henry’s Jamaica placed fourth in the World Cup standings with 153 points, while the United States of America won the title with 219 points. Poland (162 points) finished second and Great Britain (155 points) placed third. France (146 points), Germany (137 points), South Africa (135 points) and China (81 points) rounded out the standings.
