Kansas Softball Position Breakdown: Pitchers

LAWERNCE, Kan. – The Kansas pitching staff might be the most mysterious position in 2019 with the departures of Andie Formby and Sarah Miller, who started a combined 46 of 52 games for the Jayhawks in 2018. Senior Brynn Minor added five starts in 2018, while Tarin Travieso earned one start.
 
PLAYER BREAKDOWN
Hannah Todd | SO | Cartersville, Ga. | Throws: R
Todd, a transfer from North Carolina, appeared in only five games for the Tar Heels in 2018 and logged 3.0 innings pitched. As a senior at Cartersville High School, Todd posted a 1.25 earned run average with 220 strikeouts.
 
Kirsten Pruett | R-SO | Bastrop, Texas | Throws: R
Pruett transferred from Louisiana and made one appearance in two season for the Ragin’ Cajuns, striking out three in 1.2 innings pitched against Florida. At the conclusion of her high school career, Pruett was the career record holder at Cedar Creek High School for wins, strikeouts and innings pitched.
 
Brynn Minor | SR | Wichita, Kansas | Throws: R
Minor pitched in 22 games with 56.2 innings logged for Kansas in 2018. She finished with a 4-4 record with two saves and a 3.83 ERA. She was the 2017 NJCAA D1 National Player of the Year and tallied a perfect 13-0 record with a 1.07 ERA in 78 innings of work.
 
Tarin Travieso | SO | San Antonio, Texas | Throws: L
Travieso pitched in 14 games with one start in 2018 and finished with a 2-1 record in 39.2 innings of work. Her 4.41 ERA was the fourth lowest on the team and she held opposing batters to a .307 average.
 
Lexy Mills | FR | Agoura Hills, California | Throws: R
Mills attended Agoura High School in Agoura Hills, California and was the back-to-back leader in strikeouts in the competitive Marmonte League in southern California.
 
Mandy Roberts | SR | Lee’s Summit, Missouri | Throws: R
Roberts has appeared in 21 career games while compiling a 4-3 record. In 2018, the Lee’s Summit, Missouri native appeared in two games while pitching 1.1 innings. Her best season came in 2017 when Roberts posted a 4-3 record in 19 appearances with a 4.54 ERA.
