Late Night Under the Lights presented by Nissan Debuts April 13

LAWRENCE, Kan. – A new brand of Kansas football will debut Saturday, April 13 as Kansas Athletics will host Late Night Under the Lights presented by Nissan at David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium. The day-long event will feature the 2019 Kansas football Spring Game at 6 p.m., and admission for all of the day’s activities is free.
 
Schedule of Events
3:00 PM– Bike and Helmet Fair, Hawk Zone, and Gameday on the Hill
3:30 PM– Spring Egg Hunt
4:00 PM– BMX Bike Performance, Student Flag Football Championships
5:00 PM– K Club Alumni Flag Football Game
6:00 PM–  Spring Game Kickoff

Gates to David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium will open at 4 p.m. Seating for Late Night Under the Lights will be limited to the west side of David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium, and fans will be allowed to enter the south and west side gates to the stadium. The clear bag and metal detector policies will be in effect for Late Night Under the Lights. For more information on these policies, please visit KUAthletics.com/bagpolicy.
 
Parking for Late Night Under the Lights is free, including the Mississippi Street garage. Bus service to David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium is available from lots 54 and 72 on Irving Hill Road, and on the north side of Price Computer Center, on Sunnyside Avenue west of Illinois Street. Shuttle service runs from 4-6 p.m. It will restart at 7 p.m., and will run until 30 minutes after Late Night Under the Lights concludes. Accessible shuttle buses are available from these lots, as well.
 
The Spring Game portion of Late Night Under the Lights will be broadcasted throughout the state of Kansas via cable partners Cox, MidCo and Spectrum and across the country on ESPN+. Programming is subject to change, please check your local listings for availability. Additionally, Jayhawk Radio Network will broadcast the Spring Game live across the state of Kansas, with an audio stream also available at KUAthletics.com.

Gameday on the Hill
Gameday on the Hill, which is located immediately south of the stadium at the base of Campanile Hill, will be open for Late Night Under the Lights. Gameday on the Hill, which first opened for the 2018 football season, features food, beverages, retail and live music in the heart of one of the most scenic settings in college football. Gameday on the Hill will be open at Late Night Under the Lights from 3-6 p.m.
 
Free and open to the public, Gameday on the Hill features something for fans of all ages.  All fans will be able to enjoy Pepsi products and food from a selection of local food trucks. Fans over the age of 21 will find Coors Light, Miller Light, Blue Moon, Summer Shandy and red and white wine. Picnic tables will be provided throughout the area, giving families a great option to gather and enjoy pregame for Late Night Under the Lights. DJ Spencer and local band Dylan Guthrie and the Good Time Guys will provide music at Gameday on the Hill and the Marching Jayhawks will perform in the area at 5 p.m.
 
Bike and Helmet Fair
The annual Bike and Helmet Fair will start at 3 p.m., in lot 91, which is located on the south side of the football practice fields. The Bike and Helmet Fair will feature a bicycle course and free bicycle inspections, courtesy of Lawrence-Douglas County Fire and Medical and the Lawrence Police Department. In addition, kids ages 15 and younger will be custom-fitted with a free bicycle helmet (while supplies last) as they learn about bicycle rules of the road, trail etiquette, booster seat safety and bicycle and pool safety.
 
Hawk Zone
More family-friendly activities will be available before Late Night Under the Lights in the Hawk Zone, which will open at 3 p.m., on the Kansas football practice fields located adjacent to David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium on the southeast side and features inflatable games for children, photo opportunities, poster-making, stickers and face tattoos. The Hawk Zone will be open from 3 p.m., until kickoff of the Spring Game at 6 p.m.
 
Spring Egg Hunt
Kansas Athletics will host a Spring Egg Hunt, which will take place on Campanile Hill, from 3:30-5 p.m. Registration for the Egg Hunt is free and open to children ages 10 and under. The Spring Egg Hunt will feature prizes including candy, toys, tickets and Kansas Athletics memorabilia. Spring Egg Hunt registration can be found here: KUAthletics.com/EggHunt.
 
BMX
BMX bikers will make their way to Late Night Under the Lights as they will take over Lot 94, located on the east side of David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium. X-Games medalist Zach Warden, along with Sam Bowman, Nick Tarrant and Rich Lopez will headline the BMX crew. The BMX performances are free to all fans and will take place between 4-5:30 p.m.
 
Student Flag Football Championships
The finals of the Student Flag Football Championships will be held in David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium starting at 4 p.m., with the women’s title game, immediately followed by the men’s finale at 4:30 p.m. This marks the first year the 4 v 4 tournaments have held their championship games in the stadium.
 
K Club Alumni Flag Football Game
For the fifth-consecutive year, Kansas football is welcoming back all former players for the K Club Alumni Flag Football Game. The alumni flag football game is scheduled for a 5 p.m., kickoff in David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium. All KU football alumni interested in participating should email kclub@ku.edu.
 
KU will begin the 2019 season on August 31 vs. Indiana State. The Jayhawks will also host nonconference opponent Coastal Carolina (Sept. 7) before Big 12 rivals West Virginia (Sept. 21), Oklahoma (Oct. 5), Texas Tech (Oct. 26/ Homecoming, K-Club Weekend), Kansas State (Nov. 2/Dillons Sunflower Showdown) and Baylor (Nov. 30/Senior Day) visit Lawrence.
