LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas sophomore diver
Shiyun Lai has been named Big 12 Women's Diver of the Week for the fourth time in her two-year career, the conference announced on Wednesday.
Lai, who earned three Big 12 weekly honors during the 2023-24 season, secured her first accolade of the 2024-25 season following a standout performance against Illinois on Oct. 10. She dominated the competition in Kansas' dual meet, sweeping both the one-meter (302.93) and three-meter (327.83) diving events.
With this latest honor, Lai becomes the first diver in Kansas history to receive the Big 12 weekly award four times. In addition to her accolades last season, she was named Newcomer Diver of the Meet at the 2024 Big 12 Swimming and Diving Championships, where she claimed first place in the three-meter dive.
