LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas received its first national ranking of the season this week as TopDrawerSoccer has the Jayhawks at No. 16 in their top 25 rankings. The ranking is the first of the season for Kansas.

Kansas is ranked for the first time since the 2020-21 season. The last time that Kansas was ranked was March 15, 2021 by TopDrawerSoccer. The Jayhawks checked in at No. 22 that week.

The ranking comes after Kansas has now won eight consecutive matches and a Big 12 Tournament Championship. The Jayhawks claimed the tournament title on Nov. 9 with a 1-0 shutout win against No. 7 TCU. The Jayhawks won the championship by knocking off the number one, two and three seeds in the final three matches. The victory gave Kansas an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
