IRVING, Texas – Kansas baseball graduate outfielder
Jackson Hauge was named Big 12 Newcomer of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday. The honor from the Big 12 is the second of the season for Hauge. He received Big 12 Player of the Week on March 17.

Hauge hit .467/.526/1.000 (7-for-15), with two doubles, two home runs, nine RBIs, six runs scored, three walks and a 1.526 OPS in four games last week. Hauge crushed a go-ahead 3-run homer in the seventh inning on Friday night against Kansas State. He also extended his on-base streak to 27 games.

For the third time this season, Hauge homered in back-to-back games. In addition to his Friday night homer, Hauge hit a long ball on Tuesday against Wichita State. In all four games, Hauge drove in at least one run and in three of four games he scored a run or drew a walk.

A native of Ramsey, Minnesota, Hauge leads the Big 12 with 17 home runs (tied for third nationally), 60 RBIs (tied for second nationally) and 117 total bases (16th nationally). Hauge is tied for third in program history for single-season home runs (17) and tied for ninth in single-season RBIs (60).

Hauge is the second Jayhawk to receive Big 12 Newcomer of the Week this season, joining
Tommy Barth who earned the honor on March 3. He is the 19th player in Kansas history to win the award.

No. 23 Kansas (31-10, 12-6 Big 12) swept Kansas State this past weekend for the first time since 2019 and has matched its win total from the 2024 season with 15 regular season games to go. The Jayhawks have 30 wins in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 2013 and 2014.

KU is currently tied for second in the Big 12 standings with four games coming up on the road this week, including a midweek game at Nebraska on Tuesday and a three-game series at Utah.
