Rankings update: Fourth top-25 matchup awaits No. 11 Kansas volleyball
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kansas volleyball moved up one spot to No. 11 in the AVCA Coaches Poll released on Monday, Sept. 25. The Jayhawks have been ranked 37-straight times in the AVCA poll entering the sixth week of the regular season.
Kansas (12-2, 1-0 Big 12) plays host to No. 18 Iowa State for its Big 12 home opener on Wednesday (6:30 p.m., JTV/ESPN3). The date with the Cyclones (10-1, 1-0) will mark the fourth top-25 matchup this season at Horejsi Family Athletics Center.
The Jayhawks feature a 2-1 record against current top-25 teams, including wins over No. 10 Kentucky and No. 19 Purdue.
The Big 12 features three of its nine teams ranked in the top-25, including No. 11 Kansas, No. 5 Texas and No. 18 Iowa State. Two additional 2017 opponents (Baylor and Missouri State) are receiving votes in this week’s poll.
