RCW: A Look Back 4.4

As the football team unpacks its bags after the first road game of the season, let’s take A Look Back at one essential piece of equipment for any game: the jersey. The jersey in these photographs belonged to Harold Hauser, who played football for Kansas from 1926 until 1928. He was a captain of the 1928 squad and also played center for the men’s basketball team. His football jersey, along with a 1928 football game ball, were donated to the Kansas Athletics collection by his family. The long-sleeved jersey is made of wool, with some slight padding sewn into the elbows.
