Shimmering – The early morning light shimmered off the water of the Oklahoma River as the First Varsity Eight boats from Oklahoma and KU led off the Big 12 Double Dual that also featured rowing teams from Kansas State and Texas at the Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Boathouse District on Saturday, April 8.

Kickback – Rowers Angie Allen and Maddie Irelan braced against each other as the junior and senior loosened their leg muscles ahead of the Big 12 Double Dual in the Boathouse District of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on Saturday, April 8. KU and Kansas State alternated racing against Oklahoma and Texas on the Oklahoma River.

Bird’s Eye View – KU’s Second Varsity Four boat rowed under a bridge just past the finish line in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma’s Boathouse District after the rowers battled against Texas over 2,000 meters on the Oklahoma River during the Big 12 Double Dual that featured Kansas and Kansas State in alternating duals against Texas and Oklahoma on Saturday, April 8.

High Knees – Sophomore vaulter Morgan Griffiths used a set of hurdles at Mesa Community College to keep her knees high for the speed and extension needed in her events during the Jayhawks’ practice in Mesa, Arizona, on Thursday, April 6. Griffiths competed in the pole vault, long jump and 100 hurdles at the Sun Angel Classic inside Arizona State’s Sun Angel Stadium on Friday and Saturday, April 7-8, in Tempe, Arizona.

In Front of a Crowd – As assistant coach Caroline Lilley volleyed tennis balls to Tatiana Nikolaeva with KU tennis coach Todd Chapman watching, the freshman also dealt with the distraction of the Oklahoma football team’s spring practice behind her as she warmed up for the Jayhawks’ match against the Sooners at the Headington Family Tennis Center in Norman, Oklahoma, on Friday, April 7.
