Boot It – With redshirt freshman kicker Gabriel Rui holding, a participant booted a football up and through the goal posts during the Train Like a Jayhawk program for KU football’s young fans after the spring game inside Memorial Stadium on Saturday, April 15.

Leaving His Mark – Junior linebacker Denzel Feaster added his name to a fan’s T-shirt following KU football’s spring game inside Memorial Stadium on Saturday, April 15. Young fans participated in the Train Like a Jayhawk program after the game where they could interact with the Jayhawks’ players.

See You Next Season – Sophomore linebacker Mazin Aql packed his helmet and shoulder pads into a storage bin inside Memorial Stadium following KU’s football spring  game on Saturday, April 15. The fans’ next chance to get a look at the Jayhawks in action will be Fan Appreciation Day in August ahead of the season-opening home game against Southeast Missouri State on Saturday, September 2.

Oh, Stop Embarrassing Me – A very happy, but embarrassed, Tess Bernard-Feigenbaum hid her face as her teammates – freshman Tanya Nikolaeva, sophomore Anastasia Rychagova and freshman Amber Policare – rushed to congratulate the senior after she rallied from a first set loss to win the No. 2 singles match and clinch a 4-2 victory over in-state rival Kansas State. Bernard-Feigenbaum, the No. 30 Jayhawks’ sole senior, was later honored at the Jayhawk Tennis Center during a Senior Day ceremony on Saturday, April 15.

Lawrence Memorial Hospital Ad 

 Villined – Senior closer Stephen Villines, captured in a multiple exposure, threw a changeup during the ninth inning of KU’s victory over Oklahoma State on Friday, April 14, inside Hoglund Ballpark. The all-time leader in saves for the Jayhawks added three saves at home against Wichita State on Tuesday and against OSU on Friday and Saturday to run his season save total to 10.

Gorro Saludo – Following a light-hearted video segment in which KU pitcher Jeider Rincon taught fans the Spanish word for “hat,” the freshman’s teammates saluted him with their “gorros” in the KU dugout during the game against Oklahoma State inside Hoglund Ballpark on Saturday, April 15.

 The Wall Tumbled Down – KU left fielder Devin Foyle propped up a section of the outfield fence inside Hoglund Ballpark after fellow sophomore, center fielder Rudy Karre tried to chase down a fly ball and crashed into the wall with such force that a section of the fencing dislodged during the Tuesday, April 11 game against Wichita State.

Nissan Ad 

Shockingly Good Comeback – KU pinch hitter Jaxx Groshans celebrated in the dugout with coach Ritch Price after the freshman delivered a two-run single to put KU up 8-6 in the seventh inning to cap a four-run comeback which led to victory over in-state rival Wichita State on Tuesday, April 11.

Clipped – As shortstop Taylor McElhaney moved in to field a ground ball, the foot of Oklahoma’s leaping Alissa Dalton clipped the throwing hand of the KU senior. McElhaney fielded the ball and threw out the batter at first base, however, no interference was called on Dalton inside Arrocha Ballpark at Rock Chalk Park on Friday, April 14.

Water Works – KU sophomore Ariadna Fonseca Diaz launched a drive over an aerated pond on the 11th hole at the Tulsa Country Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on Tuesday, April 11, during the final round of the two-day, 54-hole Dale McNamara Invitational. Diaz finished in a tie for third place and the Jayhawks finished fifth overall in their final regular-season tournament.

Hilltop– On the third hole at Tulsa Country Club, a steep downhill was followed by a steep uphill that left KU redshirt freshman Xinyun Yu and players from Tulsa and BYU straining to get to the top on the par five called Hill Top on Tuesday, April 11, during the final round of the two-day 54-hole Dale McNamara Invitational. Yu, playing as an individual, finished in a tie for 20th place in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
