SHAKEOUT – Shortly after arriving at the team hotel in downtown Austin, Texas, the KU women’s cross country team went for a shakeout run along the Lady Bird Lake Trail on Thursday, October 26. Both the women’s and men’s teams competed in the Big 12 Cross Country Championships two days later in Round Rock, Texas.

Blue Streak

BLUE STREAK – Defending champion Sharon Lokedi streaked away from the starting line and went on to run away from the field over the 6K course in Round Rock, Texas, to win her second-consecutive Big 12 Cross Country Championship on Saturday, October 28.

Congratulations

CONGRATULATIONS – Big 12 Cross Country champion Sharon Lokedi was congratulated by KU teammate Alaina Schroeder near the finish line of the Championship in Round Rock, Texas. The two Jayhawk juniors raced over the 6K course with Lokedi winning for the second-consecutive year, while Schroeder finished 11th to earn All-Big 12 honors.

PROPER GOLF ATTIRE? – Freshmen Sera Tadokoro and Aritelle Acuff, along with senior Kallie Gonzales, arrived at Eagle Bend Golf Course in Lawrence, Kansas, costumed like a cowgirl, gorilla and the Star Wars’ character Rey as the KU women’s golf team enjoyed a Halloween celebration of skill challenges, games and treats on Friday, October 27.
