SPECIAL GIFT – Junior women’s basketball player Brianna Osorio gave a candy cane to a child that donated money to the Salvation Army on Friday, December 8, outside the Walmart on south Iowa Street in Lawrence. Osorio and redshirt sophomore teammate Tyler Johnson were part of a large group of KU student-athletes, organized by KU Leads, to donate time manning the red collection pots outside many local businesses.

Beary Good Day

BEARY GOOD DAY – For the 23rd-consecutive year, the KU women’s basketball team visited Lawrence Memorial Hospital to share its holiday spirit by distributing gifts to patients, which for one mother and newborn included a stuffed bear and other Jayhawk gear on Friday, December 15. During the last 25 years, Kansas vendors have donated over $400,000 worth of KU gear for distribution to charitable organizations through the Crimson and Blue Holiday Project.

Surprising Gift

SURPRISING GIFT – To the surprise of children from the Lawrence Big Brothers Big Sisters program, a new bicycle was wheeled onto the James Naismith Court inside Allen Fieldhouse by senior cheerleader Kyra Skinner. Each child was gifted a bicycle at halftime of the men’s basketball game against Arizona State on Sunday, December 10.
