RCW: Career Development
KU Leads and the Williams Education Fund partnered this past Tuesday, January 30, on a career development event for junior student-athletes. The event which was titled, “The Importance of Making a Good Impression,” focused on educating student-athletes in all the areas that go into making a positive first impression, and how to do them successfully.
Elements of making a good first impression such as dressing professionally, topics of conversation and proper interview etiquette were all areas of discussion.
The presenter for “The Importance of Making a Good Impression” event was Janis Kliethermes, who owns and operates Etiquette Kansas City. Kliethermes provided insight for the student-athletes into what companies and business professionals look for when meeting individuals for the first time.
This was the second career development event KU Leads and the Williams Education Fund have partnered on this year, with the first being the Senior Student-Athlete & Donor Roundtable this past fall.
