Junior goalkeeper Maddie Dobyns’ heroics helped lift the Kansas Jayhawks to a perfect road weekend in league play. On Friday, Dobyns made four critical saves in the second half against the Horned Frogs to preserve the Kansas lead and eventual victory. Two days later, the Kansas City, Missouri native tallied her third shutout of the season in the Jayhawks’ 1-0 win over the Texas Longhorns. Dobyns again collected four saves over the final 45 minutes of action to preserve the clean sheet and help Kansas move to 3-0 to start Big 12 play.

Hanna opened the 2016 Golfweek Conference Challenge at the Spirit Hollow Golf Course in Burlington, Iowa, with an even-par first round. Over the second and final round, Hanna put together back-to-back, five-under 67s to finish tied for first at 10-under. The win marked the first collegiate victory for the Kansas senior and was his fifth top-five finish. Over the final round, Hanna collected three birdies on the front nine, but used birdies on both the 17th and 18th holes to walk away with co-medalist honors.

TAYLER SOUCIE

Soucie recorded six block-assists to lead KU’s front-row defense, which held Baylor to a .194 hitting percentage on Saturday. The eighth-ranked Jayhawks defeated Baylor in four sets, snapping the Bears’ 10-match winning streak and improving Kansas to 6-0 at home this season. Soucie’s 1.5 blocks per set ranked third in the league during week six and she added nine kills on Saturday, including a kill on match-point to clinch the victory for the Jayhawks. On the season, Soucie ranks fifth in the Big 12 in blocks per set (1.18) and ninth in hitting percentage (.317).

In just his second event in a Kansas uniform, Sutton fired a three-round, six-under 210 at the 2016 Golfweek Conference Challenge for his first top-five finish as a Jayhawk. After posting 69s in each of the first two rounds, Sutton held the lead heading into the final day. He ended the event by playing the final round at even par, but was still able to hold on to his top-five finish at fourth overall.  He also was one of four Jayhawks in the top-20 resulting in Kansas’ first team win of the season.
