Sophomore wide receiver Evan Fairs had a career day in Kansas’ loss at Texas Saturday.  Fairs caught seven passes for a career-high 104 yards to lead all receivers in the matchup. After opening the game with a pair of catches that each went for no gain, Fairs hauled in five catches for 14, 14, 34, 11 and 31 to lead the Jayhawks

Guard Lagerald Vick matched his career high to lead all scorers with 23 points in Kansas’ 92-56 season-opening win over Tennessee State Friday night. Vick shot 8-for-12 from the field, including 4-for-7 on 3-pointers. He also added five rebounds, three assists and a steal, while logging 31 minutes of playing time.

  

 

KYLEE KOPATICH

Junior guard Kylee Kopatich drained the first bucket of the 2017-18 campaign and didn’t stop there in Kansas’ 66-48 season-opening win over Campbell Sunday. Kopatich went on to knock down five of her seven attempts from the 3-point line, surpassing her previous career-high mark of four. With the hot shooting, Kopatich finished with a career-high 21 points, including 17 in the first half. She also recorded seven boards, tying her career-high rebound mark, and dished out five assists.

Junior Sharon Lokedi took a step forward to becoming a three-time All-American in cross country, as she claimed one of the automatic berths to the NCAA Cross Country Championships with a runner-up finish at the Midwest Regional Friday. Lokedi’s second-place effort with a time of 20:11.6 helped the Jayhawk women finish 10th, while the men’s team ran to an 18th-place finish. Lokedi’s finish matched her performance from last season’s regional meet, and is the third-straight year she’s finished in the top three at the Midwest Regional.
