RCW: WEF Donor Spotlight - Jeff & Sarah Stanton

Jeff and Sarah Stanton have been members of the Williams Education Fund for 29 years and are proud to be affiliated with the elite and first-class programs that make up the University of Kansas. Get to know the Stanton’s a little more in this edition of the WEF Donor Spotlight.

Are you University of Kansas alumni?
We both graduated from the University of Kansas in 1985 with a bachelor of science in Accounting and Business Administration.

What is your favorite Kansas Athletics memory?
We have lots of them:

  • The 2005 football victory over Nebraska
  • The 2008 football victory over Missouri led by Todd Reesing
  • The Orange Bowl victory
  • All the final fours
  • But our favorite has to be the 2008 National Championship in San Antonio when we went with all three of our kids.

Why do you support Kansas Athletics and its student-athletes?
We love the tradition, passion and pageantry of the games. We are proud to be affiliated with elite, first-class programs, and we want to make sure it endures for our kids and future generations of Jayhawks.

What is your favorite KU tradition?
We like tailgating at football games, the Rock Chalk Revue and meeting friends at The Wheel.

If you could describe KU in one word, what word would it be and why?
Jeff: Formative… My years at Kansas represented a time in my life where I was exposed to diverse thoughts and opinions. KU was also the place where I met my wife and developed strong friendships in which we shared a common bond.

Sarah: Heritage

Is there anything else you would like to tell us about yourself?
Our three kids all graduated from or still attend KU.  They are third-generation Jayhawks.
