Freshman Season (2014-15): Played in seven games in 2014-15… Grabbed two defensive boards in exhibition play against Washburn (11/11)… Pulled down a rebound in his one minute of action against No. 1 Kentucky (11/18) in the Champions classic… Grabbed another rebound in a win against Lafayette (12/20)… Stole his first career pass against Kent State (12/30)… Recorded his first career points in the second round of the NCAA Tournament against New Mexico St. (3/20).

Orem High School: Was the lone senior in leading Orem High School to it’s first-ever 4A state basketball championship in 2011-12… The Tigers went 24-1 his senior season, going undefeated in Region 8… Averaged 8.8 points, 6.2 rebound and 4.7 assists per game… Also had 54 steals and 12 blocked shots his senior year… Earned Utah Valley Defensive Player of the Year, all-region and all-state accolades his senior season… Orem had won just seven games his junior year… An honor student who was a team captain his junior and senior seasons at Orem.

Off the Court: Born Joshua Pollard in Kennewick, Washington… Parents are Alan and Tiffany Pollard… Has four brothers and three sisters… Went on a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Los Angeles before coming to Kansas… Nephew of former KU men’s basketball (1994-97) and NBA player Scot Pollard… Grandfather, Pearl Pollard, played college basketball at Utah from 1955-59… Father, Alan, played college basketball at BYU and USC from 1984-89… Another uncle, Brandon Doman, was the quarterback at BYU in 2000-01 and played three seasons for the San Francisco 49ers (2002-04)… Speaks Spanish… Plans to study finance at KU.
