Kansas kicks off 2019 season with Cooper Sprints

LAWRENCE, Kan. — Kansas rowing starts the 2019 season with the first of two regattas on the east coast, as the Jayhawks race in the Copper Sprints on Sunday, March 24, on the Cooper River in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.
 
KU will face Big 12 rivals Oklahoma and West Virginia and several east coast crews. Also in the field at the Cooper Springs is Boston College, Bucknell, Clemson, Drexel, Duke, UMass, Navy, North Carolina, Rhode Island, SMU and Villanova.    
 
Sunday marks the first time Kansas will compete in 2019 after participating in a scrimmage against Tulsa and spending spring break in Austin, Texas in preparation for the upcoming season.
 
This weekend marks the first time in program history that the Jayhawks will compete in the Cooper Sprints.
 
UP NEXT
The Jayhawks will head south to compete at the Sunshine State Invite April 5-6 in Sarasota, Florida.
