FSN to Televise KU Softball at Baylor

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Fox Sports Network announced it will televise Kansas softball’s game at Baylor on April 24 at 3 p.m. CT as released by the Big 12 Conference on Thursday afternoon.

“We are really excited to have our game at Baylor air on FSN, along with four of our home games this season on the Jayhawk Television Network,” said head coach Megan Smith. “We haven’t had as much national presence in the last four years since I’ve been here, so it’s really exciting for our families and recruits to be able to see us play across the country.”

Kansas will have a total of five televised games in 2014, which marks the first televised games for the Jayhawks since the 2012 season.

Along with the FSN broadcast, four additional home games will air on the Jayhawk Television Network/ESPN3 as a part of the new television agreement with Time Warner Cable SportsChannel and ESPN3. The following games will be televised on the Jayhawk Television Network: March 15 against Northern Illinois, April 18 against Baylor and May 10-11 against Iowa State.

Smith, who is entering her fifth season at Kansas, leads a Jayhawk squad that returns 10 letterwinners from 2013 and welcomes a talented group of newcomers that includes six freshmen and two transfers.

KU softball opens the 2014 season on Feb. 7 at Central Florida and will spend the first five weeks of the season on the road before hosting the Jayhawk Invitational March 14-16 at Arrocha Ballpark.
