The Jayhawks had three first-team selections and two second-team honorees. Kansas’ five selections mark the fourth year in a row that the Jayhawks have placed at least five on the Big 12’s academic team.

Jones, a fifth-year senior, is one of three Jayhawks to earn the award for the second-year in a row. She also was named to the Academic All-Big 12 First Team as a sophomore. Junior Maddie Stein also earned first-team honors for the second-straight season, while junior pitcher Alicia Pille rounds out the first-team selections with her first career conference academic accolade.

Junior Chanin Naudin was named the Academic All-Big 12 Second Team for the second year in a row. Senior Nikki Bruce also garnered second-team honors, which is the first of her career.

First team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better Grade Point Average (GPA), while the second team selections hold a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA.

To qualify student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 60 percent of their team’s scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence.
