Estrada signs with Swedish professional club

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Former Kansas standout midfielder Tayler Estrada has signed a contract with Visby P18 IK in Visby, Sweden and will begin play immediately with the club as it is just under midway through its league schedule.

P18, a member of Sweden’s top women’s division, is eight matches into its league season and currently sits fifth on the league table with a record of 3-3-2 and 14 contests remaining. Estrada is expected to begin seeing field time immediately and will give the team a needed boost in the midfield.

Since her competitive career with the Jayhawks came to a close, Estrada has also seen time with the Puerto Rican National Team, logging time in three friendlies with the squad this spring as it preps for the first round of women’s World Cup qualifying matches beginning this summer.

During her four-year Kansas career, Estrada tallied 80 starts for the Jayhawks and amassed 6,578 minutes, the sixth-most in program history. She was also a two-time team captain and was named to the All-Big 12 Second Team following her senior season last fall.
