Hagan earns NSCAA All-Region First Team nod

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Kansas sophomore Grace Hagan was selected to the All-Central Region First Team it was announced by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Tuesday. The honor marked the first time in Hagan’s career she was named to an All-Region list and marked the third-straight season a Jayhawk was named to the Central Region’s first team.

Hagan, a native of Wichita, Kansas, finished off her 2016 campaign with a career-high seven goals, which ranked fifth in the Big 12. The forward also tallied a career-high four assists to add to her yearly point total of 18, which was also was fifth in the conference.
 
Hagan was the Jayhawks’ top-goal scorer and led the team to an 11-6-5 overall record, KU’s highest Big 12 finish since 2004 (second) and the program’s fourth appearance in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. She was also selected to the All-Big 12 First Team for the first time last month.
 
Hagan joins Caroline Smith (2003) and Holly Gault (2004) as the only Jayhawks to claim All-Region First Team honors as sophomores or younger. Hagan was one of 13 student-athletes from the Big 12 Conference to be selected to the three All-Central Region teams, which honored 33 players in all. She was also the only sophomore featured on the first team list.
