Hagan selected for U.S. U23 National Team camp
CHICAGO – Kansas junior-to-be Grace Hagan was invited to the U.S. Soccer U23 Women’s National Team Camp to be held July 21-28 in Seattle, Washington, it was announced Thursday. The stint will be Hagan’s first action with the National Team as it begins talent evaluation in preparation for international competitions in the coming year.
Hagan, who hails from Wichita, Kansas, has scored 11 goals and added seven assists in 42 career appearances for the Jayhawks. She enjoyed a breakout sophomore campaign last fall that saw her earn All-Big 12 First Team and All-Region First Team accolades en route to leading the Jayhawks to a second place finish in the Big 12 and a second-round appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
Hagan is one of 24 players that head coach B.J. Snow called to the camp, which includes a match against the Seattle Sounders Women of the WPSL on Monday, July 24 at 6 p.m., at the Husky Soccer Stadium on the University of Washington campus.
Hagan will rejoin the Jayhawks in time for preseason camp, which is slated to begin on Aug. 2. Kansas will host Iowa at Rock Chalk Park for its lone exhibition of the fall on Aug. 12 before it begins the regular season against Nebraska on Aug. 18 in Lawrence.
