Jayhawks Continue Spring Season at Tulsa Saturday

LAWRENCE, Kan. – The University of Kansas soccer team will continue its spring exhibition season this weekend when it journeys south to take on the Tulsa Hurricane on Saturday, April 9 at 1 p.m. The match will mark the first against a collegiate team this spring after the Jayhawks posted outings against the Kansas Men’s Club Team and FC Kansas City in their first two matches of the spring.

The match in Tulsa Saturday will be a welcome event for a Kansas team that has worked its way through a difficult first two opening legs of the spring season, having already endured games against a men’s squad as well as the defending champions of the NWSL, FCKC.

The Jayhawks will play a Tulsa team that recorded a 13-6-1 overall mark during its 2015 season, including the best start in program history with an 8-0 record to begin the year.  TU also tallied 32 goals from 15 different players during the fall.

After its road match this weekend, Kansas will return home to close out the spring campaign with two matches in Lawrence over the last three weeks of April. The Jayhawks will welcome the Iowa Hawkeyes to Rock Chalk Park on April 16 before closing out the spring with the Arkansas Razorbacks on April 30.
