Ridling earns 2017 All-Big 12 honors

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas junior catcher Harli Ridling earned her first career All-Big 12 accolade for her efforts on the diamond in 2017, as announced by the conference on Wednesday morning.
 
A product of Sentinel, Oklahoma, Ridling earned All-Big 12 Second Team honors at the conclusion of the 2017 season. In addition to her all-conference second-team nod, Ridling was named Big 12 Player of the Week twice this season.
 
Ridling started 49 games for the Jayhawks during her junior campaign. She recorded a .326 clip, good for the second-best batting average among KU’s starters. Ridling led the squad with 11 home runs, while also registering seven doubles and 37 RBIs. Defensively, Ridling caught 21-of-46 runners attempting to steal a base.
 
In Big 12 action, Ridling started 14 of KU’s 17 conference games. She batted .233 in league play with 10 hits, including a double and four home runs, and tied for a team-high seven RBIs.
