Summer 2007: Went 3-1 with a 2.66 ERA in eight games for the Duluth Huskies of the Northwoods League … Made three starts and allowed just 14 hits in 23 2/3 innings pitched … Teammate of current Jayhawks Justin Ellrich, Robby Price, Shaeffer Hall and Andy Marks.

2007 (Sophomore): Finished second on the team in starts (14), strikeouts (62) and innings pitched (72.1) … Compiled a 4-8 record with a 4.60 ERA and 62 strikeouts … Pitched five scoreless innings, giving up one hit and striking out four against Chicago State (5/12) … Struck out a season-high nine batters against Texas A&M (3/16) … Pitched 4.1 scoreless innings, gave up only three hits and struck out seven to earn his first victory of the year against Hawaii-Hilo (2/2).

Summer 2006: Pitched 11 games, making eight starts for the Salinas Valley Packers of the California Coastal Collegiate League … Went 2-2 with a 3.83 ERA in 47 innings … Struck out 33 while allowing a .244 batting average.

2006 (Freshman): Made 17 appearances on the mound, including eight starts … Compiled a 4-3 record with a 5.18 ERA and 45 strikeouts in 49.1 innings … Earned his first collegiate victory over North Dakota State (4/12) … He allowed just one hit over five scoreless innings, striking out a season-high nine hitters against NDSU … Did not allow a run in 15 consecutive innings, spanning two starts and a relief appearance (4/19-5/2) … Pitched seven scoreless innings against Creighton (4/26), allowing just one hit while striking out six and walking just one for his third victory … Earned the win in the Big 12 championship game against Nebraska (5/28), while older brother, Don, recorded the save.

Summer 2005: Played on the USA Junior National team, which is comprised of the nations top players aged 18 years and younger … Team USA went 12-2 including 7-1 in the Pan American games … Compiled a 2.08 ERA with a 1-0 record … Made two appearances and one start … Struck out six batters in 4.1 innings of work.
