2009 (Sophomore): Named All-Big 12 Second Team as well as Academic All-Big 12 First Team … Posted an 8-3 record on the mound with a 4.70 ERA in 14 starts for the Jayhawks … Recorded 88 strikeouts in 82 1/3 innings … Tossed seven strong innings against Memphis (Feb. 20), but took a no-decision … Earned first victory of the year, allowing one earned run over five innings against Northwestern (March 6) … Posted second win against No. 4 Arizona State (March 14), allowing one earned run on six hits over 6 1/3 innings … Pitched complete game shutout against No. 7 Baylor (April 4), allowing three hits and one walk … Recorded first 10-strikeout game of his career against No. 17 Oklahoma State (April 11) … Fanned 10 in 7 2/3 innings against Nebraska (April 26) … Posted third win against a ranked opponent, allowing two runs on five hits over six innings at No. 9 Oklahoma (May 2) … Struck out a career-high 12 in final start of the regular season, downing Kansas State (May 16) … His eight wins were the most by a Jayhawk since Kodiak Quick won a school-record 11 games in 2006.

Summer 2008: Played for the Duluth Huskies of the Northwoods Baseball League … Went 1-4 with a 2.34 ERA in nine starts … Struck out 65 in 50 innings pitched … Teammate of current Jayhawk Robby Price.

2008 (Freshman): Selected to the College Baseball Foundation[apos]s National All-Star Lineup for the Week of April 23 … Named to the Athletic Director[apos]s Honor Roll … Made 16 appearances on the mound, including seven starts … Posted a 4-1 record with a 5.00 ERA … Earned first collegiate victory with 6 2/3 innings against UMBC (3/21), allowing one run on seven hits … Pitched 5 1/3 innings of scoreless relief against Benedictine College (3/26) to pick up his second win … Returned to home state of Nebraska to defeat No. 9 Cornhuskers (4/20) … Held Huskers to three runs on six hits over 7 2/3 innings with five strikeouts … Struck out a season high (seven) against Missouri (5/11).
