2012 (Senior): Named Academic All-Big 12 First Team … Pitched in 26 games out of the bullpen … Went 1-2 with a 4.75 ERA and one save in 41 2/3 innings … Tallied 33 strikeouts and walked just 12 … Did not allow a run over his first seven appearances of the season … Earned first career save against Belmont (Feb. 18), pitching the final 2/3 of the ninth inning … Recorded a career-best six strikeouts in three scoreless innings against North Dakota (March 6) … Pitched two innings of scoreless relief at Baylor (March 24) … Suffered first loss of the year in 16-inning game against Wichita State … Made two-inning scoreless appearances against Oklahoma (April 27) and Air Force (May 5) … Earned first career win at UALR (May 1), allowing one run over two innings … Recorded four strikeouts in three innings of relief at Kansas State (May 13).

2011 Summer: Played for the Rochester Honkers of the Northwoods League … Head coach was Stefan McGovern … Posted a 2-2 record with a 3.25 ERA and one save in 17 relief appearances … Tallied 30 strikeouts in 44 1/3 innings … Also went 7-for-25 with a home run and three RBIs at the plate.

2011 (Junior): Made 13 appearances out of the bullpen … Pitched 16 2/3 innings with an ERA of 5.40 without recording a decision … Held opponents to a .190 batting average … Allowed no earned runs in two innings of relief at Wichita State (May 4) … Pitched one scoreless inning of work with two strikeouts against Alabama A&M (May 15).

Summer 2010: Pitched for the California Seals in the Pacific West Collegiate Baseball League.

2010 (RS-Sophomore):Made seven appearances out of the bullpen … Pitched six innings with five walks and six strikeouts … Tossed two scoreless innings against Saint Mary (March 9), striking out a career high three hitters … Also threw a scoreless inning of relief against Baker (March 24).

2009 (RS-Freshman): Did not pitch.

2008 (Freshman): Took a redshirt season.

High School: Lettered three times for head coach Rocky Helm at Maize High School … Selected as a Louisville Slugger All-American as a senior … Named first team all-state and all-league … Given the Perseverance Award his senior year … Named team MVP twice … Led team to a state championship in 2005 and a second-place finish in 2006 … Batted .426 with four homers, 22 RBIs and 12 stolen bases during his senior season … Also went 5-0 with a 0.35 ERA on the mound in 2006 … Lettered four times in football and twice in basketball … An Army National Scholar Athlete and a Wendy[apos]s Heisman candidate.

Personal: Son of Jon and Judy Jakubov … Oldest brother, Ryan, pitched at KU from 2002-03, while older brother, Matthew, played at Wichita State from 2002-04… A double major in psychology and sport management.
