2012 (Sophomore): Tabbed All-Big 12 Second Team by the conference office as well as the Waco Tribune-Herald … Named Big 12 Pitcher of the Week twice (April 23 and May 21) … Selected to the Big 12 Commissioner’s and Athletic Director’s Honor Rolls … Posted a 6-8 record with a 3.23 ERA in 15 starts … Became the fifth pitcher in KU history to record 100 strikeouts in a season … Held opponents to a .228 batting average, eighth-best in school history … Right-handed hitters batted .217 against him … His 3.23 ERA was the best by a Jayhawk since 2001 … Earned wins in his first two starts, defeating Middle Tennessee (Feb. 17) and Mississippi Valley State (Feb. 24) … Recorded eight strikeouts in victory at Minnesota (March 10) … Pitched first complete game at Texas (April 20), tallying a career-high 11 strikeouts … Allowed one earned run in eight innings with nine strikeouts against Air Force (May 4) … Pitched a complete game shutout against Missouri (May 17), allowing no runs on seven hits … Ranked sixth in the Big 12 in innings pitched (111.1), sixth in strikeouts (100) and seventh in opponents’ batting average (.228).

2011 (Freshman): Made 24 appearances out of the bullpen … Went 0-3 with a 3.09 ERA in 46 2/3 innings of work … Led the team in innings pitched out of the bullpen … Struck out 35 batters on the year while allowing only 16 earned runs … Picked up his first collegiate save against Arkansas-Little Rock (March 22) … Pitched three innings of relief and allowed only one hit against Nebraska (April 10).

At Stuart Hall HS: Lettered four times for head coach Eddie Russell … Named team MVP in 2010 … Posted a 7-4 record with a 1.36 ERA and 127 strikeouts in 72.0 innings pitched during his senior year … His 127 k’s were the 11th-most in California high school baseball … Tossed a no-hitter against Point Arena High School … Also had a one-hitter against University High School … Batted .355 with four homers and 28 RBIs with 24 stolen bases in 2010 … Went 5-0 with an ERA below 1.00 as a freshman … Team won the BCL league championship in 2007 and 2010 … Also lettered four years in basketball and twice in soccer … Made the scholastic honor roll all four years of high school.
