2008 (Jr.): Was a Biletnikoff Award candidate (one of 10)… Earned All-Big 12 Honorable Mention honors… Named Phil Steele All-Big 12 Third Team, Kansas City Star All-Big 12 Second Team and Associated Press All-Big 12 Honorable Mention… Shared KU[apos]s Gale Sayers Most Courageous Player award with Jake Sharp, as well as KU[apos]s Most Improved Offensive Player with Dezmon Briscoe… Established school season record for receptions with 97 (old mark was 70)… Tied Dezmon Briscoe for the school mark for single-game receptions with 14 vs. Missouri… Had 97 catches for 1,045 yards, the fourth-most yards by a KU player in history… Also had eight touchdown grabs to tie for third on the KU season list… Tied for sixth in the NCAA with 7.46 receptions per game… His 80.38 yards per game ranked 32nd nationally… Had three straight 100-yard receiving games early in the season with 120 at South Florida, 136 vs. Sam Houston State and 125 vs. Iowa State… Closed the year with 14 catches for 106 yards and two fourth quarter touchdowns, including the game-winner – a 26-yarder on fourth down with 27 seconds left – against Missouri and 10 receptions for 113 yards and another score against Minnesota in the Insight Bowl… Also tossed a 32-yard touchdown against Minnesota… Finished 2008 with a streak of catching at least two passes in 21 consecutive games… Was the number one backup at quarterback, but did not take a snap at that position… Threw three passes on the year, completing all three for 74 yards and one touchdown – all from his wide receiver position… Has thrown for 1,542 yards and recorded 1,324 yards in receptions in his career… Has also rushed for 419 yards… Served as the holder on placekicks on the season and was listed as the backup punter.

2007 (So.): Served as the team[apos]s backup quarterback all year long, but moved to wide receiver to get on the field… Saw action in eight games as a quarterback and played in 10 games as a wide receiver… Started five contests at wide receiver when the Jayhawks went to a four wide receiver set on the opening play… Those starts came at Kansas State, vs. Baylor, at Texas A&M, at Oklahoma State and vs. Missouri… As a quarterback he was 25 of 29 (86.2 percent) for 275 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions… Completed his first seven attempts of the year, as well as his last 10 on the season… Most extensive time at quarterback came against Iowa State when he was nine of nine for 101 yards and one touchdown… As a receiver he caught 26 passes for 274 yards and two touchdowns… His 26 receptions were fifth on the team… Had at least two receptions in each of the last eight games… Had four catches for 70 yards vs. Missouri and had four catches for 42 yards and a touchdown against Nebraska… Became the first KU player to record a rushing touchdown, passing touchdown and receiving touchdown in the same season since Garfield Taylor in 1981… Also became the first Jayhawk to record a rush, pass, reception and punt in the same season since Donald Shanklin in 1968… Was on the cover of Sports Illustrated catching a touchdown pass against Iowa State…. Passed for and caught a touchdown pass against Iowa State.

2006 (Fr.): Played in and started eight games as KU[apos]s signal-caller… Completed 104-of-184 pass attempts… Threw for 1,193 yards and a KU freshman record 13 touchdowns… Had a season-long 50-yard pass against Iowa State… Finished second on the team with 346 rushing yards… Averaged 3.5 yards per carry and added five rushing touchdowns… Set season-highs with 23 completions and 243 passing yards against Toledo… Threw a season-best three touchdowns against Oklahoma State… Had two or more TD passes in five games… Named KU[apos]s Offensive Player of the Week following the Northwestern State and OSU contests.

2005 (RS): Redshirted… Co-winner of the team[apos]s Otto Schnellbacher Award, given annually to the Offensive Scout Team MVP.

High School: Named all-league first team as a quarterback and a punter in both 2003 and 2004… An all-state selection at quarterback by the Kansas Football Coaches Association as a senior… Also named to the KFCA[apos]s Top 11… Ranked as the 13th-best high school senior quarterback in the nation by Superprep Magazine… Connected on 72-of-151 passes for 930 yards and nine touchdowns in 2004… Led the PHS Dragons to the sectional championship as a junior and senior… Coached in football by Merle Clark.

Personal: Born in Pittsburg, Kan… Major is sports management… Would like to travel the world after graduation… Hobbies include being outdoors, riding a bike and music, especially playing the bongos… Son of Dennis and Valerie Meier… Three brothers have all played college football, including Shad (Kansas State and the NFL), Adam (Pittsburg State), and Dylan (Kansas State).
