Career Honors: 2012: Earned All-Big 12 Second Team honors from the conference coaches, the Associated Press, Phil Steele Magazine and the San Antonio Express News. 2011: Named to the Phil Steele Midseason All-Big 12 Third Team. 2009: First Team Freshman All-America by Football Writers Association of America, The Sporting News, CollegeFootballNews.com, Second Team Freshman All-America by Phil Steele Magazine, All-Big 12 Honorable Mention, Freshman All-Big 12 by The Sporting News and Rivals.com, KU Most Improved Offensive Player. 2008: KU Defensive Scout Team Player of the Week vs. Colorado.

2012: (Sr.): Earned All-Big 12 Second Team honors from the conference[apos]s coaches, the Associated Press, Phil Steele Magazine and the San Antonio Express News… Selected to Senior Bowl Watch List… Started all 12 games at left tackle, giving him 48 consecutive starts… His 48 career starts and 48-straight starts are both team records… Helped pave the way for a running game that averaged 4.6 yards per carry and had a 1,000-yard rusher.

2011 (Jr.): Started all 12 games during 2011 season at right tackle, giving him a team-best 36 consecutive starts … Helped offense gain 534 yards, including 253 on the ground, against Northern Illinois … Also helped the KU offense gain 404 yards, including 296 rushing yards, against Baylor.

2010 (So.): Started all 12 games at left tackle for the second- straight season.

2009 (Fr.): Earned a number of Freshman All-America and All-Big 12 honors… Was named a Freshman All-America first-team selection by the Football Writers Association of America, The Sporting News and CollegeFootballNews.com… Was All-Big 12 Honorable Mention by the league coaches… Named the team[apos]s Most Improved Offensive Player… Made his collegiate debut by starting at left tackle in the season-opener against Northern Colorado… Started all 12 games at that position on the season… Originally a tight end who was moved to defense before settling in at tackle in the spring of 2009.

2008 (RS): Named KU Defensive Scout Team Player of the Week vs. Colorado… Redshirted the 2008 season… Came to KU as a tight end, was moved to defensive end and then offensive tackle.

High School: Was an all-state selection as a defensive lineman his senior year… Earned all-state first-team honors as a tight end as a junior… Selected to the Kansas Shrine Bowl team after his senior year… Was named the conference offensive MVP his senior year… Recorded 30 catches for 500 yards and five touchdowns as a senior… As a prep junior he had 24 receptions for 363 yards and nine touchdowns… Defensively, he made 30 tackles, including two sacks… Also played basketball and was all-league first team as a senior and second team as a junior.

Personal: Born in McPherson, Kan… Major is pre-sport management… Would like to get into international business and work overseas after graduation… Likes outdoor activities, especially going to the lake… Can play the piano… Son of Griff and Kathy Hawkinson… Has two brothers and one sister… Grandfather, mother, two brothers and one sister attended Kansas.
