Career Honors: 2008: Academic All-Big 12 Second Team. 2007: Academic All-Big 12 First Team. 2005: KU co-Scout Team Defensive Player of the Year.

2008 (Jr.): An Academic All-Big 12 Second Team honoree… Played mainly as a backup… Started the first three games of the year at right defensive end… Had five tackles on the season… Made a season-best two tackles in the season opener against Florida International…. Had one stop against Minnesota in the Insight Bowl.

2007 (So.): An Academic All-Big 12 First Team selection… Played in all 13 games as a reserve defensive end… Recorded 13 tackles on the year… Had 3.5 tackles for loss, including two sacks… Was one of eight Jayhawks with at least two sacks on the season… Sacks came in back-to-back games at Colorado and at Texas A&M… Broke up two passes (vs. Florida International and at Colorado) and recovered a fumble (vs. Toledo) on the year as well… Had a season-high three tackles vs. Missouri… Had two tackles against Baylor, at Colorado and vs. Iowa State.

2006 (Fr.): Played in all 12 games… Finished the season with seven total tackles, including six solo stops… Collected two quarterback sacks and knocked down two pass attempts… Recorded his only forced fumble of the season against Kansas State… Gathered a season-best three tackles against Iowa State… Posted sacks against Baylor and Iowa State.

2005 (RS): Redshirted… Was named co-winner of the George Mrkonic Award, given annually to KU[apos]s Scout Team Defensive Player of the Year.

High School: Earned all-state second team honors in Class 5A by the Texas Sports Writers Association… Was named all-district first team as a senior defensive lineman… Named all-Houston second team by the Houston Chronicle… Earned varsity letters in football, lacrosse and track and field for CLHS… Led the football team to district championships as a junior and senior… Helped Clear Lake to the state semifinals in 2004… Won the district championship in both the shot put and discus as a junior… Was his team[apos]s defensive MVP in lacrosse… Coached in football by Troy Addudell.
